The Ampleforth Abbey Tearoom

The Tea Room, furnished with the famous ‘Mousey Thompson’ tables, is situated off the Main Hall in the Central Building.  It provides a welcome respite and nourishing refreshments.  Using locally produced products where we can, our menu includes homemade cakes and scones, ciabattas, light meals, salads and delicious afternoon teas.  We also have freshly ground coffees and Yorkshire tea or why not try a glass of Father Rainer’s cider with you meal or relax in our courtyard with a glass of wine?

We are open at the following times:

Monday -  Saturday   10am until 5.30pm.

Sunday                        12 noon until 5.30pm.

Ampleforth Pork & Apple Burger: topped with Vale of York cure bacon and melted Wensleydale cheese served in a floured bap with hand cut chips £7.95

Grilled Mediterranean vegetables with Halloumi cheese and home-made salsa ciabatta, served with aromatic salad and Yorkshire crisps £5.65
